This is the fifth and last episode in a series of five podcasts about the Recast programme.
About Recast Podcast Episode 5
The Recast Podcast episode 5 was recorded live at the opening of the Recast exhibition at AirSpace gallery.
Immerse yourself in all the excitement of the exhibition as our host Adam Gratton takes you through the space, speaking to project participants Jude, Caz, Jeff, Louise and Josh about the work they have displayed. He is also joined by project organisers from BCB and Stoke Recovery Service, artists Cath Ralph, Emilie Taylor and Keith Brymer Jones, as well as representatives from North Staffs Combined Healthcare, BAC O’Connor Centre and Public Health at City of Stoke-on-Trent Council.
What is Recast?
The Recast programme combines creativity, addiction recovery and clay. It’s a collaboration between BCB (British Ceramics Biennial) and Stoke Recovery Service that’s been running since 2017. Each week, members of the service take part in weekly clay workshops led by a BCB associate artist. These occur in 8-week blocks at Stoke Recovery Service HQ. Following these weekly workshops, some of the Recast group members spend four days on an artist residency at Spode Works. We then share the work made during this time at public events and exhibitions.
The Rayne Foundation and The Community Foundation for Staffordshire fund this current round of the Recast programme.
