About the Transferer CPD workshop
This workshop is designed for educators who are keen to support the development of transferable communication skills. You do not need prior ceramics experience or art training to attend this session. Taking inspiration from our Transferer programme, this CPD workshop will support teachers who want to improve their students’ oracy and critical thinking skills through the medium of clay.
Transferer is a groundbreaking project exploring cross-curricular approaches to art-based learning while simultaneously developing the oracy skills of students.
The CPD session will include three activities from our toolkit, Sgraffito Storytelling, Body Parts, and Co-building with Slabs, as well as time to discuss the Transferer toolkit which we will be sending out to all attendees after the session. Additionally, we will make it available on the BCB website. This digital toolkit will support the development of communication skills within the classroom through clay activities.
Recently, we held an exhibition of the students’ work created within the Transferer programme. Read about the Ceramic Minds exhibition and hear from students and programme facilitators.
