About the BCB Talent Development Mentorship programme

The mentoring programme will support up to seven early career artists between September 2024 and January 2025. The programme will provide mentees with 4-5 mentoring sessions, training, a network of peers and support from the BCB team.

The mentoring process involves the mentee asking for specific guidance around aspects of their work and professional practice. Through the programme, mentors can help mentees strengthen their connections and create supportive, career-enhancing opportunities.

We encourage applications from people who feel they face barriers, this may include financial, ethnicity, education, social class, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, neurodiversity, longterm health conditions or other protected characteristics. Please read the application guidelines if you have any questions about the programme.

To be eligible the selected mentors must:

  • Have five or more years’ relevant experience in the cultural sector or a related field
  • Be passionate, committed and motivated in supporting someone early in their career
  • Be able to commit to taking part in the programme
  • Be interested in the opportunities that being a mentor presents.

Notes about the submission process

If you are writing your application statement, we advise that you do so on a separate document. This will make it easier for you to edit and proofread. You can then copy and paste to the form once you are ready.

Your submission form is saved and stored in your browser if you lose connection or need to pause. Please do not close the browser if you want to keep your information stored.

If you are submitting an audio or video recording of your application statement, you will need to upload your recordings to a website host (Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo, Soundcloud etc.).

There will be a prompt in the application to provide a link to your recording. Recordings must not be more than 3 minutes.
