British Ceramics Biennial are pleased to be hosting their first special auction of contemporary ceramics in Partnership with Jason Wood, Specialist Consultant in Studio Ceramics at Adam Partridge Auctioneers & Valuers.

The auction coincides with the 10th anniversary of BCB and will bring together 100 works by artists who have involved in this international ceramics festival since its inception including: Bruce McLean, Stephen Dixon, Neil Brownsword, Peter Jones, Hannah Tounsend, Caroline Tattersall, Matt Smith, Andrea Walsh, Keith Harrison, Adam Buick, Sam Lucas, Zoe Preece and Irina Razumovskaya. The British Ceramics Biennial takes place in Stoke-on-Trent from 7 September to 13 October, with a vibrant programme of exhibitions, installations and events across the city.

The auction will be held in the BCB festival hub, the Spode China Hall, on the evening of Thursday 10 October, 6pm – 8pm (viewing from 5pm), and is curated by Adam Partridge’s Specialist Consultant in Studio Ceramics, Jason Wood. Contributing to the ever-growing market for ceramics, the auction will feature works by innovating contemporary ceramic artists from BCB’s flagship exhibitions AWARD, which is an exhibition and prize for mid-career artists, and Fresh, which showcases the work of the UK’s most talented ceramic graduates. Significant works by ceramic artists who have taken part in other elements of the festival will also be auctioned, with all proceeds helping to support The Clay Foundation, the BCB’s charitable arm, with its public engagement programme across the city of Stoke-on-Trent.
