Transferer project film
About the Transferer project film
The Transferer project film was commissioned to highlight the impact of Transferer within Stoke-on-Trent schools. Early secondary students from Haywood Academy and Thistley Hough Academy participated in clay workshops.
Through these explorations of clay and ceramics students built new relationships, learned how to structure and communicate their ideas, increased their vocabularies and learned about arts careers. Participating students reported a positive change in their confidence and ability to communicate with others. They also developed their ability to formulate ideas, critique artwork and engage in critical discussions.
Transferer centred the voices of young people within BCB, building their confidence in expressing themselves and their ideas. Working with young people in Stoke-on-Trent has always been central to our work. We recognise the vital role arts engagement plays for young people to expand their cultural horizons and develop transferable skills.
About Transferer
Transferer was a groundbreaking project exploring cross-curricular approaches to art-based learning. The project worked with two Stoke-on-Trent secondary schools, delivering a two-year programme with year 7 and 8 students to develop greater oracy and critical thinking skills.
