Studio Assistant
Olivia Azzopardi joined in 2024 as our part-time Studio Assistant to the BCB Studio at Spode Works. Olivia plays a key role in supporting the development of the creative co-working space for the organisation’s year-wide programmes and open-studios. They work closely with our associate artists, members, and our core team to help create innovative tools to streamline the efficiency of our studio. Assisting with programme delivery and community engagement.
She recently graduated from Loughborough University in 2023 with a BA Fine Art Degree and Diploma in Professional studies, winning the ‘Bruce Asbestos Innovation Award : One to Watch’ at her degree show. Since then, Olivia has sustained their artistic practice delving into site-specific histories, archaeology, and climate change through ceramic sculpture and multi-media.
Olivia also works as a freelance muralist, workshop facilitator and prop maker. With most recent commissions for ArtFest 2024, Narrowly Gallery Newark, Recre8 at Tonbridge School, and grassroots organisations Green Hustle CIC, Sugar Stealers CIC and LU ARTS.
Olivia’s passion for ceramics, community engagement, and creative collaboration makes them a vital contributor to the British Ceramics Biennial team and their mission, ‘making change through clay’.
